Bridal customers don’t begin and end with engagement rings and wedding bands. As the Jewelry Information Center suggested in last week’s bridal tip, the category goes well beyond these staples. You can create a section dedicated to bridal party gift ideas for everyone from the bride to the flower girls.
This week we focus on the bride, who will very likely influence all of these purchases. As she prepares for her big day, you want her to be loyal to your store, so make it a part of the celebration.
Some ideas to thrive with bridal sales and relations:
- Get Intimate. Invite the bride in for a private consultation. Have her bring in photos of the dress or her actual gown so she can try on different jewelry to create the best look as she walks down the aisle.
- Make it Inclusive. Include the mother, bridesmaids or flower girls to create a fun jewelry party for the girls.
- Give Her the Royal Treatment. Include “fantasy” jewelry as part of your consultation. This encourages the bride and her friends to envision the perfect dream wedding and makes it fun and exciting. Even if she doesn’t buy the “fantasy” item, her enthusiasm will lead to other sales.
