Taking part in a television interview -- whether for a local, regional or national program -- can provide great exposure. Showing your store or brand in a positive light is all in the presentation. Jewelry Information Center’s Amanda Gizzi says you must consider what you wear, your body language and how you speak.
We’ll break down all three, starting today with Gizzi's suggestions for camera-ready wardrobe and appearance:
- Wear solid colors, which show up better on camera.
- Avoid white, which can make you look washed-out under the bright lights.
- Women should stay away from wearing button down shirts. The buttons can pull, causing a gap in the fabric and leave you unintentionally exposed.
- Wear jewelry, of course. While it should be substantial, don’t make it overwhelming.
- Avoid jewelry with movement. It can add unwanted noise to your sound bites.
- Make sure your nails are short and manicured, for a tailored appearance.
