More and more jewelry companies are discovering the power of Twitter, the social networking site that embraces brevity (messages are limited to 140 characters). But if you’re just getting used to the Facebook phenomena, getting started on Twitter can be disconcerting. Over at JCK Online, Robyn Hawk shares tips to help you establish “Twitter Gems”.
If you've set up a Twitter feed, take these tips to get started:
- Interact: If someone sends you a “tweet” (which is a message on Twitter), be sure to respond back.
- Offer Feedback: Through Twitter you can search for real-time discussion of your product or brand. Hawk says its good to join in and offer your input.
- Be Personal: Use the profile page to let other users know about you and your business.
- Follow People Outside your Niche: For example, Hawk suggests using Twitter's search function to find people who have to look good for work (like realtors or lawyers).
