Amanda Gizzi, Jewelers of America Director of Consumer Communications, offers smart planning tips so you can maximize every dollar and minute of your Las Vegas trip:
- Set Your Objectives: Establish clear goals and write them down. That will help you plan your trip effectively.
- Plan Your Schedule: You may be tempted to schedule every single moment of every day, or to not plan any appointments at all. Instead, do both. Schedule appointments with the companies with which you know you want to do business. But reserve some time, money and display case room for new designers who may catch your eye while walking the show floors.
- Know the Upcoming Jewelry Trends: Shop the show with Jewelers of America's Jewelry Trends Report for fall 2010. TheTrends Reports are compiled by Jewelry Information Center's style experts, who research fashion and jewelry forecasting trends to help you identify what jewelry styles to will be hot sellers in 2010 and beyond.
- Seek Out Innovation: Visit the Design Atelier at Couture and The Design Center at the JCK Show. The talented designers in these sections are generating a lot of press that can turn into big business for your store.
- Visit Your Trade Associations: Jewelers of America, like many of the other associations, is offering special deals at our new booth location (L54, right outside of the AGTA Pavilion). Schedule a few minutes for each association to learn what tools they can provide to improve your business.
- Promote Your Attendance: After you return from the show, be ready to post announcements on your websites and social media platforms. Your customers will be anxious to hear about the new designers and jewelry that you will be featuring in your store.
- Extra Tip: Pitch to your recent trip to the local media. Position yourself as a trend expert heading to the largest jewelry trade show in the United States. Put together a trends recap for their distribution -- and include your top picks from the trade shows.
